The bar graph below is before any batteries are added and clearly details the benefits of the volume of solar energy being generated against what’s being used immediately with the remainder exported to the grid, clearly showcasing how batteries can and do help improve the ROI to be achieved.
Our customer’s main priority was to generate power he could use to offset his daytime peak usage (as he works from home) within his immediate financial restraints for budget as he plans to add battery storage at a later date.
The property is an end terrace with a West/East facing roof and a roof pitch of 30 degrees.
As most of his usage was in the afternoon it was established the west facing roof was the best profile to use based on when he uses the majority of his power. With this setup he has decreased his annual electricity consumption by at least 57% and with careful energy management he can achieve even higher savings.
